Miracle League Basketball
To give our athletes the opportunity to participate in youth basketball competition that is both fun and safe.
League Types
There will be Four different types of league:
Wheelchair - Any child who uses a walker or wheelchair as their primary mode of transportation. We use a smaller basketball and two goals on each end to allow players to score. Each athlete is primarily pushed or guided by a buddy.
Buddy - This is where each child will get a one-to-one volunteer or "buddy" to assist them in learning how to play the sport. The usual age range here is 4-11 ish. The ability level is extremely low.
Intermediate - This is primarily coach-led. Coaches will help assign positions, encourage passing, and provide direction on the court. They play cross-court.
Competitive - These athletes know the rules of the game, maintain positions on their own, and while coaches are on the court, they provide minimal assistance and direction. There is a referee who officiates it like a real game.
